Music

Music is and always was my main purpose in life. I am practicing Bass (electric) almost every day from 2 up to 7 hours and write music almost every day aswell. My daily procedures also include ear training with steadily increasing difficulty, atonal music dictations and so on. Besides making music I do sports like body-building, swimming and long-distance-cycling, and I design graphics and deal with astronomy, philosophy and visual arts.

My greatest inspiration was and is the russian composer Modest Mussorgsky whose music I first encountered somewhere between the age of 6 and 10. I immediatly knew that there was no greater meaning in life to me than creating music. The staggering vividness, the metric structure of the "Promenades" and almost every other fact of his "Pictures at an Exhibition" simply captivated me. The list of my current favourite classical composers includes Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Paul Hindemith, Gustav Holst, Claude Debussy, Franz Schubert, Georges Bizet, Antonine Dvořák and many many more...

Jazz and Classical music are my "main" styles of music. The ones that I compose and that I "think music in". To me, Jazz is like the natural evolution of classical music paired with strong influence of the African music tradition and I believe it could last just as long ;) When it comes to Jazz artists, I listen to Esbjörn Svensson, Avishai Cohen, Miles Davis, Duke Jordan, Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong, Art Blakey, Charlie Parker, Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington, Viktoria Tolstoy, Nils Landgren, Fats Waller, Charles Mingus and almost all artists that were relevant in Jazz history.
