I really thing we can adapt the classic repertoir to the acoustic bass guitar. I guess someone created it to MTV unpluged shows. Now we can reconsider it. It is an acoustic instrument lower than acoustic guitar, in a same way the baritone and tenor saxes go to the same family. But, as a new instrument, there are no music written for. I adapted the Arabesque No.1 by Debussy in my record AKIXÍ, that includes music composed and played on acoustic bass guitar, and I'm happy to share it here.

My instrument is made by Takoma and it has five strings. I set it up E - A - D - G - C. I can use it as a "bass liner" on a jazz, pop or world music context, also I can do a melodic role.

If you like the idea and want to write music for me, please go to my web and e-mail-me!
