  • The collection was published as Op.10 in error and was divided into three groups of six sonatas each with the numbering starting at "I" with each group.

Navigation etc.

  • The final two sonatas in this collection (Nos.17-18) are unusual in several respects. They are Legrenzi's only works to specify the use of viols, and are printed with two sets of clefs, allowing for their performance in different keys depending on the instruments chosen, hence the instruction "O come piace", "or what you will" in the title.
