History

Lorch was in Marburg, a small university town in Hessen, known for the Marburg Colloquy in 1529. Marburg is one of three historic towns, Marburg, Wetzlar and Giessen, along the river Lahn, which flows west to join the Rhine near Koblenz.

The firm published about 130 items, mainly light music for domestic use: dances, songs and piano pieces, from 1882 to 1892. Many works were by Christoph Lorch himself, but other composers included Otto Fischer, Adolf Munch and Otto Soldan.
