Nels Drue Daily graduated with his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he studied with Tyler Goodrich White. He holds a B.S. in Music from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he studied percussion performance. At the University of Utah he studied composition with Miguel Chuaqui and Henry Wolking, earning an M.M.

Nels’ composition have been performed by the ChamberMix ensemble of San Francisco; the Canyonlands new music ensemble and Brass Tacks quintet of Salt Lake City; and the Cathedral Brass Quintet in Kearney, NE. His music has been featured on NET Radio‘s Friday Live program with William Stibor. He has been a selected participant in the New Music Festival at the University of Nebraska–Kearney in 2011 and 2012. Nels has recently worked closely with violinist Janny Joo, and pianist April Sun, members of the Meadowlark Trio.

An accomplished music engraver, Nels’ work is featured by James Boyk, Cal Tech University’s recent Pianist-in-Residence, on YouTube. He has recently published a new collection of Christmas carols with great success, and his other engraved editions have had thousands of downloads on the International Music Score Library Project. Originally from Livermore, CA, Nels Daily now lives in Lincoln, NE with his wife and two sons. His favorite composers are Johann Sebastian Bach and Dimitri Shostakovich.
