Usage

Variable 1 - Format: Method of transcription according to the New International Manual of Braille Music Notation (1996) and the Music Braille Code (2015) of the Braille Authority of North America (mandatory):

  • bar-by-bar [**/***]
  • substitution [***]

[*] The only format currently in use in North America.
[**] Exclusively used in the UK (ca.1915 to ca.1960).
[***] Rejected by the Paris International Conference on Braille Music of 1954.

N.B.: For transcriptions of a single-line staff (melodic instruments, solo voice, percussion, etc.), use single-line format.

Variable 2 - CellsPerLine: The number of braille cells per line (mandatory).

Variable 3 - LinesPerPage: The number of lines per page (not shown if null value).

Variable 4 - Pagination: The presence or absence of pagination/page breaks (not shown if null value):

  • 0: not paginated
  • 1: paginated


Variable 5 - OtherInformation: Additional information if needed (not shown if null value).
