History

Bartholomew (or Bartlett) Cooke (fl. 1784-1798) was a noted oboe player and father to T. Cooke (Thomas Cooke), the Irish composer. He established a music business in Dublin at 4, Sackville Street, around 1790, publishing a variety of sheet music including songs, country dances, and instrumental pieces. In 1799, Cooke's business was succeeded by music publisher Gough.
