Misc. Comments
Section Listing
- Adagio
- Without tempo heading
- Allegro moderato
Not the E♭ major Benda violin sonata recorded on cpo records in 2006, which lasts over 10 minutes and concludes with a theme and variations. (There is also a Naxos CD of Benda violin sonatas available with one in this key, but its E♭ sonata is L3.41.)
According to the work page at SLUB, meant for Benda's teacher Johann Georg Pisendel (1687-1755) (a pupil of Heinichen and acquaintance of Telemann, Vivaldi and JS Bach) to play, if I understand. Do not know if Pisendel did, or if he was exactly the dedicatee, however (especially as I believe the work remained unpublished.)
