An earlier violin concerto completed September 1875 in the same key (dedicated to Guido Papini, but possibly never - and still never, as of September 2015- performed) survives (complete) in manuscript and is described in detail in Dibble's Charles Villiers Stanford: Man and Musician (p.72, elsewhere).
