The first (1938) version of the work can be heard in a broadcast recording of the 1939 premiere included in an Oistrakh Edition set of CDs on Brilliant Classics; commercial recordings use the 1939 revision. (The original version was apparently destroyed by the composer?)

US premiere with orchestra given by Michel Piastro, violin, John Barbirolli conducting the Philharmonic Symphony Society of New York, at a student concert on March 1, 1941 (Concert Program from Archives.nyphil.org)
