User talk:Nerd011235

Welcome

Dear Nerd011235,
Welcome to the IMSLP! We would like to thank you for contributing.

Please visit our Contributor Portal to learn more about contributing to IMSLP.

The Tutorial provides you a basic introduction to using this site. If you wish to contribute music scores, you will find all the details in the page How to Submit a Score. In addition to that, it is advisable for you to have a basic understanding of copyright law. In case you aren't able to find something you want to know in those pages, you can leave a note on the forums.

Please consider putting the Babel tags on your user page, to tell others which languages you speak. You can also use the Babel system to find users who speak a certain language.

You can communicate with other users by placing a message on their talk page (click on a user's name, and then on Discussion), just like I did on your page. When logging on the next time, this user will get a notification of a new message. Replying to these messages can be done on your own talk page, or on the corresponding user's talk page. Note that there will be no notification for the other user when replying on your own page. It's always a good idea to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), which automatically adds your user name and a datestamp.

If you want to discuss something with the whole community, you can post a message in the IMSLP forums. For very important messages, please contact the staff directly via the IMSLP staff contact list.

Frequently asked questions can be found on the FAQ page.

We're looking forward to your next submission!

Cheers, --Peter 17:12, 6 February 2007 (EST)

Swan Lake

Hi there Nerd011235! Concerning your recent submission of Swan Lake: are you certain that these files are public domain? While the work itself is, this particular version may qualify for copyright. (In particular, it notes that it is copyright 1951). Thanks! --Emeraldimp 19:14, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Hi again! It looks like Feldmahler has reviewed the submission, so keep up the good work! --Emeraldimp 11:17, 23 February 2007 (EST)

Hey - I was wondering if you have the individual parts for Prokofiev's Symphony No 1 'Classical' Op. 25. Thanks! Cyojoe 21:01, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

I somewhat doubt that I'll find them, but I will certainly look.

Thanks for your contributions

Those ballets are very nice thanks. And good to study from.

Verdi Songs

Hi there! :) Thanks for the nice submissions you've given to IMSLP. But unfortunately I'll have to remove the Verdi songs you submitted since they were first published in 1976, and hence not in the public domain (published less than 50 years ago). Sorry! --Feldmahler 14:55, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Oops... my mistake. They were first published in 1948, and only reprinted in 1976... which means you are in the clear :) And so I've reuploaded the files and fixed it. --Feldmahler 15:27, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Liszt songs...

Hi! I'll unfortunately have to delete the five Liszt songs you submitted because they have the CDSM logo on them, and thus are not in the public domain... also, it's a good idea to not mention CDSM in the "scanner" section, because that phrase is trademarked, and there are potential trademark problems if we use it... Thanks! --Feldmahler 23:18, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

Deleted work page

Hello Nerd011235, I have deleted the work page Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel, George Frideric) which you have created on March 25, because it was empty. Feel free to recreate it if you want to submit some files to it. Thanks for contributing --Leonard Vertighel 18:56, 11 April 2007 (EDT)

Broken file

Hello again, Nerd011235. As pointed out in Talk:Valse, La (Ravel, Maurice), it appears that the file Image:Ravel Waltz.pdf is broken. Would you mind checking if this was just an upload failure, and if that is the case, try reuploading the file? Thanks in advance, --Leonard Vertighel 06:13, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

Dear Contributor,

Thank you for your submission. The upload was successful, but you did not provide enough source and publisher information. Can we kindly ask you to fill in as much information as possible? Correct identification of a score is absolutely needed to make sure a score is in public domain and does not violate copyright laws. Also, this identification reflects IMSLP's strive to quality and completeness.

Please pay attention to the following items:

  • Arranger: The person who arranged or transcribed the piece from its original setting into another (an orchestration of a piano work for example). While not always known, arranger's name is often printed on top of the first page (e.g. arranged by... ; in french arrangée par...; in German bearbeitet von... or enrichtet von...). The name and the death date of any arranger or transcriber is most important from a copyright standpoint. Please provide this information if at all possible.
  • Editor: The person who edited the score. As with arrangers, the editor's name is usually printed on top of the first page (e.g. edited by... ; in french revue par... or éditée par...; in German bearbeitet von...). This field can concern the original editor, and in case of a recently engraved or typeset score, the engraver (typesetter).
  • Scanner:This field should include the name of the scanner, or the website where the file was obtained, with a link to the site. (Preferably using one of our available External library templates).
  • Publisher Information: You can find publisher information usually on the bottom of the first pages of the score. The format for this field is as follows: "<City>: <Publisher Name>, Ed. or No.<edition or publication number, if different from plate number>, <Date - use "n.d." if no date is printed on score>. Plate <Plate number>."

More fields are described in the Score submission guide.

You will find a lot of information on the first pages of the score. If you have problems gaining information, more tips and help are provided at IMSLP:Contributing scores and Historical Publication Info. An example of a good submission is Sinding: Frühlingsrauschen, Op.32 No.6

Cheers, Peter 03:55, 14 April 2007 (EDT) ~~~~

Brahms songs

Hi, The IUCAT (Variations Project) plate and publishers number listing is incorrect. I have posted the correct numbers of the editions for high and low voice at Peters. You can find the plate numbers at the bottom of each page, btw. Peter 12:48, 19 April 2007 (EDT)

MIT Project

Hey there!

I noticed you've taken up letter J of the MIT project :P

It's great to see you want to help with the MIT project, but I was wondering if you could just post your progress so far in the finished composers page, of the MIT project, so that the rest of us can keep track of the overall progress of the project.

All you have to do is write down the names of the composers you've examined so far, and either write "in progress" (i.e. still uploading works of the composer), "done" (i.e. you've either finished uploading works of the composer, or the works are already uploaded on IMSLP) or "works under copyright" (i.e. the composer either died less than 50 years ago, or is still alive - in both cases, write down the date of death or birth, respectively, to see if the composer will enter public domain in the following years).

This will be really helpful for the rest of us :)

Take care, and continue with your work :D It's always pleasant to see people working hard for IMSLP :P

Sure thing!
Nerd011235 17:16, 23 July 2007 (EDT)

Thanks :D BTW, don't forget to put a colon ( : ) before each paragraph of your reply so that it looks indented, and more neat. You need to put one extra colon for every reply (i.e., now that my reply has one colon, if you want to reply to what I wrote under the one-colon paragraphs, you need to put two colons before each of your paragraphs). Cheers! ~ jujimufu 20:19, 23 July 2007 (EDT)

Missa Solemnis

Thanks VERY much for the Missa Solemnis scans...much appreciated. Daphnis 16:22, 23 August 2007 (EDT)

Bravo !!

Dear Nerd011235, Thank you very much for uploading Turandot's full score! I've been looking for it for nearly five years. And I'm looking forward to other parts! Maurice nuit--chat de nuit 19:57, 30 September 2007 (EDT)

Swan Lake

- Hi there, I am a big fan of the Tchaikovsky scores you have been contributing, and am happy to see another number from Swan Lake is available! Just wanted to ask: what happened to number 16 (score pages 365 to 378)? In any case, keep up the good work! - mhurshell, March 31 2007

Hi Nerd011235, there are missing pages p.622 and p.623 in "20a. Danse Russe (supplement)" of swan lake. - scsnake, 2008/12/06

Schubert: Symphony No.1

Hello Nerd011235, The author of the preface Hermann Grabner, lived from 1886-1969. The preface he wrote is therefore not PD in Canada. The music for the score you just uploaded is fine. I have already eliminated the preface and uploaded this revised version of the 1st movement. Watch out for this type of thing in the future, since it's very easy to overlook. Thanks, Carolus 18:37, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Mahler's 9th: Orchestration page

Your submission of Mahler's Ninth Symphony seems to be missing an orchestration page. It would be convenient to have this. Do you know what happened to it, and if you could scan it? Clorox 20:38, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Turandot Copyright

What happened with Turandot score? It's no longer available for download and marked [TB] (will be unavailable for a longer period). I would really like to view the score. Best Regards, Frostbringer.

Frostbringer,
I'm not entirely sure when the score becomes PD, but I can email it to you if you would like. Send me a private message if you don't want to make your email public, and I'll be happy to send it along.

Please send the score to deplement3@yahoo.co.uk Thanks a lot, Frostbringer.

Brahms Songs

Hi! I noticed that you have been the uploader of the Peters Brahms songs, and that they currently break off between Op. 58 and Op. 59. Any idea when they might resume being put up? Also, is it at all possible to put up the low key editions of these as well? The high key isn't always the original key.

Thanks so much for your great work! Hansenkd 17:58, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

Missing pages in Swan lake

Hey. First af all tahk you for your great work.

Now the little problem. I found that in the last swan lake section (20a, the violin solo russian dance) pages 622 and 623 are missing...

Giacomo Puccini - "Turandot"

Hello Nerd011235 :) I need a full score "Turandot" Giacomo Puccini. I don't download this score from IMSLP because i'm from Poland and on my screen is TB on there files (Non-PD EU). Could you send me Act I, II and III to my email address: organista {AT} o2 {DOT} pl? Thanks :)

Sorry, but IMSLP does not permit the sharing of blocked files. We have no way of verifying if you are actually in Poland, and since those files are under copyright, it could be illegal to send them to you. KGill talk email 17:23, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
