User talk:Alexender

Dear Alexander, Is this your own typeset of the oboe transcription of Rossini's Variazioni, or do you have permission from the editor/typesetter? Please advise ASAP since we delete unattributed typesets in 24 house or less if there is no response from the uploader. Thanks, Carolus 22:34, 9 August 2010 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)

(Dear Admin! This arrangement for oboe is my own. So I very deliberately published it to the public domain. I hope for understanding and please leave my editor to Oboe. A set of notes made me too. Bye!)

Thanks Cпасибо Carolus 22:37, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi Alexender. Unless you have permission from the copyright holder, none of his works can be uploaded here, because they are under copyright worldwide. (You may want to read this page for more information.)
Привет Алексендер. Если у вас есть разрешение от владельца авторских прав, ни из его работ могут быть загружены, так как они являются объектами авторского права по всему миру. (Вы можете читать этой странице для получения дополнительной информации.)
Sorry / Извините, KGill talk email 16:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the uploads! One thing: please don't put his works under the 'Public Domain', but select one of the Creative Commons or Performance Restricted licenses instead. Thanks, KGill talk email 15:10, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi again - any typeset (including the Hue) must here go under Creative Commons; in the future, please license them this way. Thanks, KGill talk email 17:24, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Hüe: Fantaisie pour flûte et piano

Dear Alexander, this appears to be a scan made from a 2006 printed edition published by "Vjatka and CGC". Can you confirm that you either are the owner of Vjatka and CGC or have their written permission to post this edition here? You seem to be fairly conscientious about things, so I will leave this up until we get a response from you. BTW, if this is your edition, surely you already know there is a much better way to generate PDFs directly from Finale which I am sure downloaders would appreciate over the scan, which is of fairly low resolution. BTW, the composer's orchestration is public domain in the USA and is available from Kalmus at present. Thanks, Carolus 22:49, 21 August 2010 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)

Pasculli - Oboe Concerto

Hi Alexender. Unfortunately, the scans you uploaded of this piece had to be deleted, because they were of a 1976 Musica Rara edition with original additions by James Ledward. Sorry, KGill talk email 03:08, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Another Pasculli-related note. I've added myself as the scanner to Le Api since I actually did scan this years ago; it appears you got your hands on a copy I once shared with others. Just FYI... Daphnis 05:14, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Dear Contributor,

Thank you for your submission. The upload was successful, but you did not provide enough source and publisher information. Can we kindly ask you to fill in as much information as possible? Correct identification of a score is absolutely needed to make sure a score is in public domain and does not violate copyright laws. Also, this identification reflects IMSLP's strive to quality and completeness.

Please pay attention to the following items:

  • Arranger: The person who arranged or transcribed the piece from its original setting into another (an orchestration of a piano work for example). While not always known, arranger's name is often printed on top of the first page (e.g. arranged by... ; in french arrangée par...; in German bearbeitet von... or enrichtet von...). The name and the death date of any arranger or transcriber is most important from a copyright standpoint. Please provide this information if at all possible.
  • Editor: The person who edited the score. As with arrangers, the editor's name is usually printed on top of the first page (e.g. edited by... ; in french revue par... or éditée par...; in German bearbeitet von...). This field can concern the original editor, and in case of a recently engraved or typeset score, the engraver (typesetter).
  • Scanner:This field should include the name of the scanner, or the website where the file was obtained, with a link to the site. (Preferably using one of our available External library templates).
  • Publisher Information: You can find publisher information usually on the bottom of the first pages of the score. The format for this field is as follows: "<City>: <Publisher Name>, Ed. or No.<edition or publication number, if different from plate number>, <Date - use "n.d." if no date is printed on score>. Plate <Plate number>."

More fields are described in the Score submission guide.

You will find a lot of information on the first pages of the score. If you have problems gaining information, more tips and help are provided at IMSLP:Contributing scores and Historical Publication Info. An example of a good submission is Sinding: Frühlingsrauschen, Op.32 No.6

Multiple copyright Issues

  • Pasculli: Fantasia sull' opera 'Les Huguenots' di Meyerbeer
This is a 1997 edition by Sandro Caldini and it is under copyright worldwide. It cannot be posted here unless you have written permission from both Sandro Caldini and Musica Rara. It will be deleted shortly as a copyright violation. Carolus
...which was also no doubt one of my scans. Let me just make this easy for you: All the public domain Pasculli works have already been uploaded. Everything else was only published in the past 20 years as edited by a notable oboist (such as Mr. Caldini or Omar Zoboli). Daphnis 00:23, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I gather the 1969 edition of Hummel Op.102 is a non-urtext item also (looks pretty heavily edited to me). UPDATE: It's an urtext after all. Preface removed from score now. Carolus 00:26, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Probably, also the Kalliwoda Morceau de Salon from which you (Alexender) based your typeset: Was this an already-engraved and published oboe and piano score? If so, this is also under copyright and you may not derive other editions including parts from this source. Daphnis 00:30, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Putting aside any editorial additions for a moment, if the Kalliwoda Op.228 was first published (in any form) more than 25 years ago, it would be OK for Alexender to re-typeset the work and post it here. Carolus 00:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
The Op. 228 was only first published in 1979 as edited by oboist Robin Canter. Daphnis 01:02, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
OK, so the editio princeps 25-year term expired in 2005. Since the work was almost certainly performed in the composer's lifetime, Canada is not an issue. USA status is a problem, though. Also, there's the issue of how much added material (if any) from the Robin Canter edition has been duplicated in Alexender's typeset. Carolus 01:17, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Kalliwoda: Oboe Concertino, Op.110
The 118-page typeset full score is complete unattributed and does not appear to be one of your own editions (your work actually looks more professional, and is done in Sibelius). This will be deleted as an attributed typeset unless you provide information and/or permission in 24 hours or less. Carolus 00:47, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

Goossens

Hi Alexender. Once again, please be more careful about checking a work's copyright status before uploading. Eugene Goossens's Oboe Concerto is under copyright in virtually the entire world, and has been deleted. Thanks, KGill talk email 22:54, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Actually, there is an edition of the piano reduction that is free in the US (as reprinted by Masters Music). This would need to be uploaded to the US server, however, as it is blocked in Canada until 1 January 2013 and the EU for 20 years thereafter. Daphnis 23:00, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Pushechnikov

Hi Alexender. Before uploading any more scores, please read this page - it's not available in Russian, but the gist of it is that if the author of a work died less than 50 years ago, it is under copyright in Canada and in most circumstances cannot appear here, as that's where our primary servers are. Your upload of Pushechnikov's work has therefore been deleted - he died only last year, and unless you have permission from his estate, his works cannot appear here until 2061. Thanks, KGill talk email 20:37, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Vivaldi: Oboe Concerto in A minor, RV 461

Hi Alexender. Do you have permission from Walter Kolneder's copyright holders to upload this edition on IMSLP? Please get back to me within 24 hours or the upload will have to be deleted due to our speedy deletion policy for copyright violations. Thanks, Lndlewis10 00:43, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

See below. There's no way he has permission. It's published by Schott and will be deleted immediately. Carolus 01:11, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Copyright Violation: Non-urtext edtions

Please DO NOT add works by Non-urtext edtions.
Reason: The edition by Walter Kolneder (1910-1994) is not urtext and includes a keyboard realization. This edition is under copyright worldwide and has been deleted. Carolus 01:10, 25 February 2011 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)

Vivaldi: Oboe Concerto in A minor, RV 461

Please do not move pages unless you know what you're doing. You just made a mess! Carolus 05:23, 19 March 2011 (UTC) UPDATE: I've now restored the original page. It appears you uploaded some files to the duplicate page you created just as I deleted it. You can upload them to the restored original page now. Thanks, Carolus 05:38, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Jimmink arrangement - use the "Add a score file to this page" link to add the piano score. You were replacing the Muzyka klavir before. Carolus 05:59, 19 March 2011 (UTC) The Klavier file you are adding is the Muzyka file we already have. It is NOT the arrangement of Jimmink, but the 18-page score. Understand? Haydn: Oboe Concerto Hob.VII:C1, C major

Excellent! Carolus 19:06, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Tabakov, trumpet school

Dear Alexender, before I tag this, I need to know what language(s) are used. Is it in Russian, and are there any other translations in it, e.g. German? Thanks, Steltz 05:56, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Pasculli: Fantasia sopra Gli Ugonotti

Hello Alexander,

This edition is probably not original enough to hold up in a court challenge - since they even reprinted the older score instead of engraving it new. Nevertheless, there is a copyright claim of 1996 (less than 25 years) with an editorial claim (and preface) by Christian Schneider. It will have to be deleted accordingly. Keep in mind that editions made after 1985 are not eligible unless they are those done by Muzyka in the former USSR. If you can find the original Lucca edition, it would be fine to post here naturally. Thanks, Carolus 01:56, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Pasculli: Gran Trio Concertante

Alexander,

This is not public domain. It is a typeset / new edition by Anna Pennington and cannot be uploaded here without her permission in writing. It will be deleted at once. Carolus 04:32, 18 May 2011 (UTC) (IMSLP Copyright Admin)

229? С уважением, Musicien 12:04, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Corrupted file

Alexender, Tried to download Haydn Piano concerto D-Dur op.21 Hob. XVIII:11, unfortunately Violin 1 is corrupted. Could you scan and upload it again? Thanks and best regards

Kalliwoda - Morceau de Salon, Op. 228 typeset

Hi Alexender, I have noticed some issues with your typeset. Would you be receptive to suggestions, or if not (or if you lack the time), would you be interested in providing me with the source file or MusicXML export? Daphnis 19:59, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Haydn Piano concerto

Dear Alexander! Thank you soo much for the parts for Haydn concerto!! Would it be possible that you re-check the Violin I part? It wouldn't open - keeps saying 'file corrupted'. I'll try to upload the full score to the concerto soon.
