Cleaned and retouched, errata misprints corrected. See discussion. Bogus copyright renewal. In the USA this work is most likely in the public domain because it was published without a compliant copyright notice or no renewal was found after a thorough search of the Catalog of Copyright Entries and it was apparently ineligible for "restoration" under GATT/TRIPS.

- This composition, often-performed both in its original form and in arrangements for band or orchestra, appears to be the work of its “arranger,” Gaspar Cassadó (1897–1966). It is in a faux late eighteenth-century style, and has no connection with any composition of Frescobaldi. According to Cassadó it was based on an organ piece he found with Frescobaldi’s name “in the archives of La Merced, the Conservatory of Music at Barcelona,” but it is believed that he claimed this in order to cover up his forgery; see Chaitkin (2001), in Tutti Celli, Newsletter of the Internet Cello Society 7.2 (March-April 2001), accessible at <http://www.cello.org/Newsletter/Articles/cassado/chapter2.htm>.
