The articles that make up this monograph were published originally during August 1876 in the newspaper Санктпетербургские ведомости under the collective title Байрейтское музыкальное торжество (The Bayreuth Music Festival). The monographic collection of them was issued first in 1889 and then in a second monographic edition (third edition overall) in 1909.
