Misc. Comments
This piece comes from the manuscript Add MS 71209. RISM has "possibly" by William Babell for the prelude, though stylistically it matches other similar pieces known to be by Babell and it is written in Babell's own hand. It also uses similar material found in Babell's arrangement of Handel's aria Vo' far guerra. In the original manuscript this is the first movement of a two movement work where what follows is a slightly different version of Vo' far guerra from the one Babell published in his Suits of the Most Celebrated Lessons Collected and Fitted to the Harpsicord or Spinnet.
