Talk:William Hall & Son

items with rather low plate numbers -actually, perhaps even too low to be 1884 products (plates in the 1000s if I am reading right) - were published in the 1880s? by Ditson as Wm. Hall and Son products, if the Library of Congress is correct (see eg this link among others. this may be a reprint of an earlier Wm Hall & Son production rather than something entirely new under that imprint, in which case I am mistaken about continuing the date past 1874 (well, unless I find a better example :) )..., especially given what may be a too low plate- but then it is a 1884 reprint- or they may be misreading the ©-date on the original - hard to read on the scan but it is always harder to read on the scan.
