The indications in the manuscript "violoncelle" and "oboe" appear to refer to organ stops, not actual instruments. ("Violoncelle" appears in the organ staff marked "Ped." on the first page and "öboe" appears in the top organ staff on the second page, middle system.) Although there is no indication in the separate upper staff for Violin, the notation "re" (page 1, 2nd system) is obviously intended to refer to the D-string. Also note that the instrumental line (in treble clef) does not descend below the lowest open string of the violin (G). Carolus 07:02, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
