Talk:Fugue à 2 chœurs et 2 contre-sujets (Onslow, George)

Is this fugue really by Berlioz?

The theme of this eight-part fugue is by Onslow, given on occasion of the 1843 Prix de Rome competition. (See: Procès-verbaux de l'Académie des Beaux-arts: 1840-1844. Jean-Michel Leniaud, Dominique Massounie, on page 388)

There are only two Prix de Rome-fugues by Berlioz which have not been lost: the ones dating from 1826 (H22) and 1829 (H35) - both are four part fugues with two countersubjects ("triple fugues").

As Berlioz did not take part in the Prix de Rome-competitions after 1830, I wonder how this eight-part fugue, whose subject was created by Onslow no earlier than 1843, could have been attributed to him?
