The opening measures could be played like a trumpet call; the first quarter note separated by a group of two eighth notes and a quarter note. This can also be applied to the development and recapitulation.

The second movement could be played either fast or slow. The marking at the top says "Allegro spiritoso". I however, do not like it played that fast; I prefer a slower, more stately tempo between andante and moderato.
