Talk:6 Concerti Grossi, Op.3 (Handel, George Frideric)

Non-Opus 3 recordings?

Why are there commercial recordings listed for the Opus 6 works? And recordings of Corelli? GFHandel 20:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

It's probably due to how the Amazon API reads the page. They're no doubt picking up the keyword "Concerti Grossi" and plugging it into their engine. Not much we can do about it. Carolus 21:32, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Splitting?

There's a note at the top of the page that the page should be split up because the Op.3 grouping was apparently 'done after Handel's death'. That's simply not the case at all. Op.3 was published in 1734 and, whether or not it had the composer's approval, the set was revised in 1734 and in 1741. What on earth is that note about anyway?? --Irishmaestro 11:13, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Maybe this could be useful.--Ralph Theo Misch 17:57, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Yes, the Op.3 was definitely issued as such in the composer's lifetime by Walsh, so almost certainly with Handel's approval. I'll remove the notice and inform P.davydov. Carolus 00:14, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
