Stravinsky and the Russian Traditions: A Biography of the Works Through Mavra (Taruskin) - writing of Glazunov's 8th as an influence on Stravinsky's opus 1, notes that the former was composed in the summer and early fall of 1905. "The first movement was completed on 18 July and the last on 30 October." (This is pointed out, by the way, since Stravinsky's symphony was by that time largely done, except for editing and "doctoring", by this time, so that the influence on Stravinsky of this Glazunov work was in that way limited, except melodically as the composers did of course play through their works for each other as friend and pupil respectively of Rimsky-Korsakov.)
