symphony no.5 (in D major), presumably later, was reviewed (with a number of good music examples) in score or parts in 1809 (May 17 1809 AMZ, starting p52). so sometime in that general vicinity, anyway if not 1806 exactly.- Schissel

ah. mentioned along with Witt sym. 3 as a new publication by André in Allgemeiner anzeiger und nationalzeitung der Deutschen, early 1807 issue, p.525. So 1806 or 1807 for sym. 4. Also mentioned in AMZ in a November 1807 ("II") Intelligenzblatt.
