12 Préludes, Op.36 (Vierne, Louis)
Jean Dubé (piano)
Genève: Henn, 1921. Plates A. 371-384 H.
Original score incorrectly indicates Op.38
Where does the "correct" Op.36 come from? There's only one (or two) listings on Worldcat that describe this as Op.36, mostly of modern vintage. Everything in Worldcat at least from the 1920s- several scores, not just this one- give "Op.38", or Second volume of Op.38, etc., with copyright dates that are either 1921 or 1921-1924. Maybe it's the source that gives this Op.36 that has a typo, and Vierne simply mistakenly gave two works (this, and Spleens et Détresses) the same opus number 38)?
