Written for my brother(Tom)'s 21st. Don't take IV seriously - it is an in joke. Also, the cadenzas for trumpet, oboe and viola should not be taken literally - they should be improvised. Thirteen timpani are required (that's three off Berlioz's Requiem!), meaning more than one timpanist, methinks!
