Misc. Comments
Based on the idea of a plot where an established situation develops into something new, this piece explores the lyrical capabilities of the cor anglais as a soloist in a dialogical relationship to the percussion, with a particular focus on the vibraphone, to create an imaginary story in a dreamlike portrait. With a special attention given to detail and the articulation of each instrument, the string quartet provides a warm and moving background for a harmonic texture that starts orbiting in Bm and gradually moves away to a distant and contrasting whole-tone sonority.
