From a collection of pieces published by Anton Huberty in Paris, 1760. The only known copy is in the Sibley Music Library, Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York. The collection comprises arrangements of music for viola d'amore made by Huberty as well as his own pieces. This is the third of nine solo sonatas for viola d’amore written by Huberty. The original is notated in scordatura, but here it is presented in standard notation (at pitch). The viola d'amore is tuned in the customary D major tuning. I have preserved Huberty's intended fingerings which were indicated by the scordatura. A numeral 5 above a note indicates an extension of the 4th finger. Generally, the implied position indicated by a fingering is held until the next fingering mark or, in most cases, a change of clef. A line through a trill symbol indicates a double trill. Markings not in the original are in parenthesis. —GS
