Sonata for Viola and Piano (Bantock, Granville)

It is unlikely that this work is public domain in the EU, or in any country where the copyright term is life-plus-70 years. However, it is in the public domain in Canada (where IMSLP is hosted) and other countries where the term is life-plus-50 years (like China, Japan, Korea and many others worldwide). As this work was first published before 1923 or failed to meet notice or renewal requirements to secure statutory copyright, it is almost certainly public domain in the USA as well. |

Misc. Comments
This is really Viola Sonata No.1 - there is a later viola sonata no.2 in B minor as well. The 2nd is apparently commercially unrecorded, the first was recorded (along with Holbrooke's 2nd violin sonata) on a DM compact disc that was released in early 2012.- Schissel (However, the tempo indications for the 2nd movement on that recording (taken from Allmusic.com anyway) - Maestoso sostenuto, rubato - Più moto - Sostenuto cantabile - Tempo primo - Poco lento - etc. - have nothing to do with those on the score here- suggesting - maybe - a revised edition is being played from??)
