The first edition, with MacDowell's cover and title page designs and the half-title pages between each movement, is 38 pages. All MacDowell titles published by Jung were taken over by Arthur P. Schmidt in 1898. Sea Pieces was re-issued by Schmidt as "Edition Schmidt No. 48" using the original Jung plates.
