1. HMB lists only two works by Nitschmann, Op. 7. Frühlingsbotschaft: Cantilene f. Viola (od. Violine) u. Pfte 1871 reprinted 1890 and Op. 8. Mägdlein am Quelle, presumably a song, 1871.
2. Several of his original compositions for piano, violin and viola, and also viola arrangements are kept in the town library at Elbląg (until 1945 Elbling) near Gdańsk/ Danzig where he was active as a journalist, translator and concert promoter in the mid- 19th century.
