Misc. Notes The only surviving source for this aria is the conducting score of Handel's pasticcio 'Catone', now preserved at the Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg. A digitized version of the manuscript is accessible on this institution's website. Timagene (and later Cesare in 'Catone') was sung by the famous bass Antonio Montagnana, who may have brought the aria with him to London.

The tagging is subject to correction, because there is no source that tells us whether there is a chorus in the full work; RISM has excerpts only. Also, the excerpts have only string/continuo accompaniment, so mostly likely the orchestra is only strings/continuo, but that is also a guess.
