  • The Academy, Vol.41 mentions a performance of this trio (Ashton's trio in A, no.2) and was published in 1892, providing an end date for composition and premiere. (possibly composed as early as 1883 by the MusicWeb composition list, if that is not a typo.) Another performance occurred on November 18 1896, in the same concert as the premiere of Walthew's clarinet trio in C minor.
