||Paris: Simon Richault, n.d.(1800s-10s?). Plate 237.
||From the uploader's library. Title page barely legible. A few errors in the piano part have been corrected in pencil. An occasional page jump is due to a previous blank page and not a missing one. Some page numbers in the piano score are so faint as to be invisible. Measure numbers have been added in pencil to the piano part.
||Piano Quartet in E-flat major
Listed as op.53/56 (C.197) but as op.46 by Publisher Richault. A melodious work notable for its piano score ossias for pianos with shorter keyboards than the Broadwood instruments Dussek was using at the time.
- Published as Opus 56 (LVI) by Breitkopf und Härtel (publisher is mentioned on preceding page) in 1803 or 1804 according to Page 557 of the Journal général de la littérature étrangère, ou Indicateur bibliographique et raisonnée des livres nouveaux [&c.] qui paraissent dans les divers pays étrangers à la France (XIIe. Cahier de l'an XII, 1803-1804). Suggestion : that this be moved to Piano Quartet, C.197 (Dussek, Jan Ladislav) since, as with Dvorak and Mozart works, the Craw number is at least consistent, the opus numbers assigned by several various publishers are not. - Schissel
(A Hamburg-published edition- (J.A. Böhme)- is at CDN-Lu, uploaded in 2015. No visible plate no., but perhaps could be dated by other methods- e.g. maybe contemporary publication announcements, for starters. Has the string parts "inside" the piano part.)
definitely published by (near) 1804 July 21 by Breitkopf. See Staats- und gelehrte Zeitung.... Richault was not founded until 1805, it seems, so this would have been an earlier publication.
