Editor gives this overture's catalog as VB 133. Online catalogues of Kraus list VB 133 as the lost "Göttingen" Symphony No.2.
See below: the catalogs that list VB 133 as the lost symphony no.2 may be using the first iteration of the VB catalog, called VB1, and this may be using the second and newer, called VB2 (think K and K(6) for Mozart (well, 6 iterations there). (Or vice versa: this may be mistakenly using the older version, aught I know... RISM lists this- or what I think is this set of incidental music, to which this is the overture (1 of 3 pieces, I think) - as BoeK 29. (I think Boe... is the B in VB, at least.) Different cataloguing system?)
|Composer||Kraus, Joseph Martin|

|Composer Time Period||Classical|

I assume 133 is the VB2 number (maybe 33 is the VB1 number, hence the misunderstanding- there are websites around that still use the older VB1 system, causing some confusion and confuzzlement... - I don't claim to have got my head 'round this myself.) Does the other incidental music (besides the overture) have vocal parts, percussion, etc. not found in the overture, by the way? (If so, the instrumentation might perhaps reflect that. Hrm. I should probably check to see if RISM-online enlightens here...) --- Schissel
(Is this the same as "Zwischenaktsmusik zu Schillers "Maria Stuart" resp. Kellgrens "Olimpie" ("BoeK 29") (see, (overture only, 1792 copy), ("Ouverture, Marche, och Mellanacter till Tragedien Olympie af Kellgren") (seems likely that this is the same work, with the overture above, and 2 more sections at least?...)
