According to Grove, the op.15b is a string quartet.
From Càceres' worklist PDF: opus 15 is a Phantasiestück, 1856 (composition and publication years). opus 15a is this octet, composed 1849/50, published 1877. opus 15b is quartet no.3, composed by April 16 1851, published 1877.
