I wrote this five-part chorale harmonization in 1996 with the intention to make an opulent romantic setting, partly inspired by Hugo Wolf's "Resignation" from "Sechs geistliche Lieder für gemischten Chor a cappella". And I like the result. So far I only used it (in D major) for organ accompaniment in the church service. But it has also already been played by a string quintet and an excellent choir might be able to sing it (rather in F major).
