Misc. Comments

The title of this page is (at present) ambiguous since the Miserere for 2 sopranos, strings and continuo is not his only Miserere in G minor, it seems; consider also this Library of Congress autograph score of a rather different Jommelli miserere in G minor as described by RISM. The one above seems to be Anh. (Appendix) 42 in Hochstein's 1984 book on Jommelli's Church Music ("Die Kirchenmusik von Niccolò Jommelli (1714-1774) unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der liturgisch gebundenen Kompositionen".)

"Pietà Signore" has the same HocJ number- perhaps is a subsection of this work? (no, given by RISM as an alternate title.) - see 1926 copy, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Biblioteca. Described on one early posthumous abschrift as Jommellis Swansong (Schwanengesang).
