Extra Information | Once attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach in the appendix as BWV Anh.26. Now considered to be by Francesco Durante. A copy was made by Bach around 1727, leading to the inaccurate composition date of 1727-32. Bach then inserted a new Christe (see above), possibly for a performance. |
