Misc. Comments

  • Unlike the companion coronation anthem, My Heart is Inditing, this does not indicate soli passages for the singers, and the texture also makes it look more like it is choral throughout with no solo passages. (Grove Music does list it as SAATBB, but when a piece has soloists and choir, they use e.g. "S, SSATB", and although My Heart is Inditing is not listed like that, the music indicates "Solo" or "Soli" for the solo passages.)
  • It is unclear whether the German was included in the original, and in the absence of translator information, it is assumed that it was.
