This is one of his 3 'serenatas' (not a serenade - inbetween a cantata and an opera, to quote a page on Antonio-Vivaldi.eu.) Probably closer to a secular cantata than other things, though...
- Perhaps similar in subject to Handel's Imeneo, with Himeneo and Imeneo both being the Greek God Hymen (Marriage), etc.? ... Wedding music, though (see above). If (as claimed on one recording) composed for the marriage of Louis XV of France, perhaps first performed in 1725 September, when that occurred. - Schissel
