Navigation etc.

Schumann found the work 'ringing with lovely melodies as over-richly as a nest of nightingales', and reciprocated by dedicating his Etudes Symphoniques Op.13 to Bennett, also published in 1837.

Published by Wessel & Stapleton of London in 1842, by the way. (Work was in print for 8 years in Germany, for 3 years in England, with no public performance? Odd.) - ES
