||Early 20th century
||3 flutes (1 doubling piccolo), 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B♭ and A, bass clarinet in B♭ and A, 2 bassoons, sarrusophone, 4 horns in F and E, 3 trumpets in C, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, cymbals, bass drum, triangle, strings + "clairons en Si♭ au loin" and "tambours au loin"
The bugle ("clairon") and drums are marked "au loin", which literally means "away", so this probably means they are played off-stage.
