History
Edition Mutuelle was founded in 1902 by René De Castéra (1873–1955) in order to give the opportunity for young composers to publish their works at a low cost. René de Castéra remained president of the firm until 1919 and personally worked with the pianist Blanche Selva to correct the proofs before printing. The firm was absorbed by Rouart, Lerolle & Cie. sometime after the first world war.
