Dwight's Journal of Music 36(June 10, 1876), p.247 documents the second performance of the cantata by the Foster Club at Mechanics Hall, Boston on May 25, 1876. A performance of the cantata with orchestra is documented in the printed program Fifth Musical Festival of the Hampden County Musical Association under the Direction of G.W. Chadwick of Boston, to be held in City Hall, Springfield, Mass. May 4, 5, and 5, 1893 (Springfield: The Association, 1893), p. 31.
