Re first typeset publication: see NMA, 90, p.125, paragraph B & C. (My limited knowledge of German confuses me here - I think they are saying that the Erstdruck is B&H, 1799, but the preceding paragraph seems to contradict- on the other hand the publications mentioned in that paragraph are either of other songs, or are publications of this song that are considered lost, or have not yet been found. In any case it seems the earliest still existing publication of this work would be the 1799 B&H.)
