Descriptive idyll/symphonic poem in style, divided into (in the Cole version in English translation) "Night", "Morning", "By the Brook", "Morning Prayer", "The Forge". Have found record of several recordings in, I think, the acoustic era? - band arrangements mainly I think.- Schissel (note:HMB has this released in Nov/Dec. 1881 for orchestra and piano in the same month- perhaps in this case they are alternatives.)
