One of a few works based on this song, some of the others also scanned by LoC (including Gustav Stoeckel's Opus 5 No.2). The song itself seems to have been notated as early as 1747? For the text, see Volksliederarchiv (which lists it as a Trinklied / Drinking song - I suppose that might count as a Students Song, just don't tell the teachers.)
