This three movement Viola concerto was written in 1971 in the Bartok / Hindemith style which by that time had become quite unfashionable. It requires a small orchestra with only double woodwind. The first performance of this work will be given by Shawn Snider with the South Shore Symphony Orchestra, in South West Florida on March 27th 2011.
