Misc. Comments
David's Arrangement
Ferdinand David's attribution of this work to Vitali was until recently considered to be a "musical hoax". See Wikipedia pages for Musical hoax. It is not certain if the "Tomaso Vitalino" referred to in the manuscipt above is the composer Tomaso Antonio Vitali or someone else. The work was first published in David's arrangement as part of his 1867 series, Die hohe Schule des Violinspiels, which popularized it.
