Viola sonata

Baker's claims Naumann wrote the first sonata explicitly for viola. Not true I think- as it was published and probably composed around 1854, after Mendelssohn's- but Mendelssohn's was only, I think, published very posthumously. I know of few viola (not viola d'amore, like the Stamitz, etc.) sonatas that weren't alternate versions of violin or cello sonatas (like Onslow's, I think) earlier than Mendelssohn's or Naumann's (op.1 in G minor), though...
