Mit einer Ausbildung in Didaktik des Musikunterrichts an der Staatlichen Universität von Maranhão (Brasilien) und einem Abschluss in Musiktheorie und Wahrnehmung, Flöte e Musikalisierung an der Centro de Educação e Formação Musical White Keys (Brasilien) nahm João Marcos Brandet an Ausbildungen und Kursen im Bereich Dirigieren an folgenden Universitäten teil: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA), Northwestern University (USA) und SESI - Serviço Social da Indústria – São Paulo (Brasilien).
